Ten Values of NCC
Ten Values of the Nesconset Christian Church
1.We Value Growth- Acts 2:47 A church is a living organism and the state of its health is determined by growth. We therefore desire to see growth in the spiritual maturity of each disciple of Christ and in the number of people being led to accept Christ in our congregation.
2.We Value Innovation- 1 Cor 9:19-22. While our message is timeless and unchanging, our methods must be evaluated and adapted to the people and the culture we are trying to reach.
3.We Value Seekers- Acts 17:27. All people matter to God therefore we must be compassionate and understanding so we can share the love and grace of God with those who have yet to make a personal commitment to Christ or are disengaged from church.
4.We Value Relevance- Matthew 7:24-25 The wonderful message of God's love and grace must be presented in a way that is understandable and applicable to the culture and times in which we live.
5.We Value Relationships- Acts 2:42. God desires that his children take time to develop personal relationships and become involved in each other's lives, to recognize needs among the body, and to seek to meet both spiritual and physical needs.
6.We Value Transformation- Rom 12:1,2 By the power of God's Spirit, we can have victory over behaviors that keep us from receiving the abundant blessings that our Father desires to pour out upon our lives.
7.We Value Encouragement- Eph 4:29 Living out our Christian beliefs and principles can be incredibly challenging. We value the positive reinforcement that fellowship with other believers can give.
8.We Value The Bible- 1 Tim 3:16 The Bible is the Word of God, therefore, it must be our rule and guide for what we believe and how we live. We must seek to let the Word of God envelop our mind and thoughts.
9.We Value Serving- 1 Peter 4:10. We recognize that God has gifted every believer and that His will is for each of us to use our gifts in serving one another. Until we have discovered our areas of giftedness and begun to develop them through genuine service we can never reach our potential in Christ as individuals or collectively as a church.
10.We Value Commitment- We recognize that in many ways our society has lost touch with the true meaning of commitment. We also understand, however, that as believers we are expected to persevere in three critical areas:
-Our Commitment to Christ
-Our Commitment to the Body of Christ
-Our Commitment to the Work of Christ
-Our Commitment to Christ
-Our Commitment to the Body of Christ
-Our Commitment to the Work of Christ
