What To Expect when you visit Nesconset Christian Church.
Attending a new church can be a fascinating yet frightening experience for most people. For the most part, everything seems new and strange. Few things are familiar while most things are different. We understand those feelings when it comes to attending a new church. We've been there. We were new here once ourselves. You don't know people's names, you don't know what classes we have, you even struggle to find the water fountain and the restrooms. No, it is never easy being new and it probably never will be. However, we want to help you make this time as easy as possible.
When you arrive: You will be greeted by one of NCC's Host's. They will open the door for you and will be in light blue shirts. Feel free to ask them any questions you have.
Nursery and Preschool Classes: NCC prides itself in providing quality childcare and classes for children of all ages. Your child will be greeted by friendly and caring teachers who have all gone through training and criminal background checks. All teachers must be members of NCC for six months before they are permitted to work with our children. These classes meet on the same level as the adults do in our auditorium.
Elementary Age Classes: During the 9 a.m. hour all Kindergarten through Fifth grade children are together for Junior Church, a service designed just for them. Your kids will sing fun songs, make creative crafts and listen to an interesting Bible lesson that is taught on their level. The class meets in a large room on the lower level of the building.
During the 10:45 a.m. hour, your child will be in a graded class where they will learn God's Word, make crafts and enjoy a smaller group experience.
Junior High and Senior High Students: During both our 9 a.m. & 10:45 a.m. services our teens meet in the "Youth House" the building just east of our main facility. There they experience a fun, interactive and Biblically based lesson geared to their age and needs.
Adult Worship: Our adult services at 9 & 10:45 a.m. last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. We worship together via singing for about 30 minutes, most Sundays with a full music band accompanying our singing. Communion is offered each Sunday at NCC. Our Pastor will then share a message on a relevant life topic for about 30 minutes. Our service usually concludes with our offering and final announcements. Dress is generally casual, though some guys will wear a tie and jacket and some gals will wear a dress, but that is not expected or the norm.
